In an effort to conjure up our pre-Covid Rooftop, we have decided to reinstate our traditional walk-in-only policy. Whilst this means there is no guarantee of a table, it also means if you make an impulsive decision to visit us on level seven, the odds are in your favour. As always, get in early to enjoy the sunshine and avoid the queue.
Absolutely. Our kitchen – the Burger Shack – is open from 4pm Monday through Thursday and 1pm Friday through Sunday, generally closing at 10pm each night. Occasionally, such as when Melbourne is hit with extreme heat, we do have to close the kitchen, but we always publicise this on our socials.

Will it be busy on Saturday night?
Our crystal ball broke years ago, but generally, if it’s warm and sunny, it will be busy. If it’s cold, windy and raining outside, it won’t be as busy. Strange but true

What time do you think the venue will reach capacity?
See above. We’re limited to a certain number of patrons at any one time. When we reach capacity, we will operate a “one in, one out” entrance system

−
Are dogs welcome on the roof?
Sure, we’re happy to host your canine pals. The deal is, they have to remain on their leash and will need to be back in their kennels by sundown. Half price drinks if the dog looks like its owner

I’m 17 and want to visit with my responsible big brother, can I come?
Not for another year, Rooftop Bar is fully licensed. All patrons must be over 18 years old. Minors will only be permitted to enter if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian

Why are your toilets gender neutral?
This is important to transgender or non-binary people who don’t identify as men or women – who often fear being attacked or discriminated against if they use either gender’s loos. All we request is that you respect this space and keep the cubicles tidy. One at a time please 😉

Can I book a private function at Rooftop?
Sorry, but that’s a no. We want Rooftop to be open for everyone all the time. Our mates downstairs at Mesa Verde can cater for private events. You can also hire out their exclusive Rooftop Garden. See function pack here.

Can I start a tab at the bar?
Of course you can. We will just require a credit card and photo ID.

Where can I find more information on the Rooftop Cinema?
Rooftop Cinema will not be conducting a full-length season in 2021/22. But if you want to be the first to hear about news and special events, subscribe to our newsletter below. Or if social media is more your thing, you can stay up to date via our Instagram.
We really regret that Rooftop Bar is not wheelchair accessible. The Curtin House Lift only goes as far as level 6. There’s one flight of stairs to ascend to the roof. We do have an ambulant bathroom for those who require these facilities

What happens when it rains?
Our refurb has increased weather protection. We’ve installed retractable roofing systems in the bar and on the deck on the grass to provide extra shelter from the rain

Is this the Cookie Sky-deck?
Ask the bar staff 😉

Do you have a happy hour?
For literally the first time ever, we’ve decided to run a happy hour! Whilst this is exciting, it sadly means we’ll no longer be able to respond to your enquiries about when happy hour is with ‘every hour is happy hour’ – instead, our answer is ‘Monday to Friday from 4pm until 6pm’. Check our instagram for rotating Happy Hour specials
